Privacy policy.

This is a personal site. It collects information from the contact form, and may count visits only after you Accept the cookie banner. This page explains what is collected, where data goes, and how to have it removed.

What the contact form collects

When you submit the contact form you provide your name, email address, and message (required), and optionally your organization, the role you're writing about, and your location. The form also automatically records limited technical metadata for security and record-keeping: your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, and the country inferred from your IP address.

Where submissions go

Submissions are stored in a hosted database (Supabase) and may also trigger an email notification (sent via Resend) and an internal monitoring alert, so the inquiry can be reviewed and answered. These providers process the data solely to operate this contact feature. Basic spam protection uses a hidden honeypot field — no additional information is collected from you for it. Your contact data is not sold, and it is not shared with anyone other than these providers.

Requesting deletion

You can ask for your contact data to be deleted at any time by emailing contact@drjeremytabernero.org.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no advertising cookies and uses no advertising trackers. Optional visit analytics (PostHog, privacy-focused, cookieless page-view and feature events) load only after you Accept the cookie / analytics banner. If you Decline, analytics scripts are not loaded while that preference remains stored in this browser (local storage key drjeremy_cookie_consent as accepted or declined); clear this site’s browsing data to reset it. When analytics are on, each page load may send a page-view event (page, referrer, and basic device info — no name, email, or other identifying details), and features may send an anonymous event naming the feature and whether you used it — for example, whether you marked a part of the AI & Algorithms series as read. A random identifier (generated in your browser, not derived from you or your device) may be kept in local storage so repeat visits count as one visitor. No individual sessions are replayed, and no data is sold or used for advertising. The site honors the Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control browser signals — if either is on, no event is sent even after Accept. See PostHog's privacy policy and the FAQ.

The reading-progress feature on the AI & Algorithms series is entirely local: which parts you have marked as read is stored in this browser (local storage key drj:edu-progress:v1) and is never sent to the server, tied to an account, or shared. Clearing this site's browsing data erases it, and it does not follow you to another device or browser. The feature works whether or not you accept analytics.

If you ask to be emailed when a new part of the AI & Algorithms series is published, this site stores your email address and the fact that you asked — nothing else, and no account is created. It is kept until you unsubscribe, which every message makes one click away, and it is used only for those series updates. You are only added to the list after you click the confirmation link sent to that address. Messages are delivered through Resend, an email provider that necessarily handles the address in order to send them; the address is never sold or used for advertising.
